Handsome devil

My first recollection of Uncle Ady was one Christmas when he came over from Oz with Jackie and Kylie. I remember this dark haired, handsome, charismatic man at the door who drawled in a deep Australian accent 'you got a cuddle for your Uncle then'. I was about 5 I think and fell instantly in love with this Uncle who I'd never met before. They year Kylie saw snow for the first time and he rang us from the airport as they'd waited for it the whole trip!

Over the years we would lose contact then speak and this carried on but in the last few years we were in contact. We regularly said we would meet for coffee and a chat, which I regret we never got round too. How I wish we'd taken the time :-(

I am so glad I had the privilege to attend Holly's funeral and see him one last time. This man however was older, broken and utterly devastated. I just wanted to support him by being a Lambert who was there.

I am sure dad and David would be able to tell many more stories, some good some bad lol. For those of you that don't know David is his mentally handicapped brother who he visited in the later years whilst he was ill. I remember him saying that he never failed to cheer him up and I know the feeling was mutual.

In short (or long) Ady had a life well lived, a family he loved who loved him. Rest well Ady with Sybil and Holly xx
